Laidback Luke is offering fans in New York City something a little different before his show on September 6: a free Kung Fu class on the rooftop of Superior Ingredients.Ad 0:00 Click for sound 0:00 / 0:00 The influential Dutch DJ and producer, who won six medals including three gold at the 2017 Kung Fu World Championship, has a long history of blending his martial arts practice with his music career.
This is not the first time he has taught a class before a show, having held a similar session during Miami Music Week that year.The class over Labor Day Weekend is designed for true beginners, with Luke promising to tie Kung Fu and raving together by the end.
“It’s very similar,” he told the Miami New Times of the connection between teaching Kung Fu and DJing back in 2017.“You watch the crowd and see what they’re up to.
Are they tired? Are they happy? Are they losing focus?
