Callaway launching internal and external investigations after troubling Good Good ad

The fallout has continued following a controversial ad that was released by golf content brand Good Good Golf and Callaway, with the golf club manufacturer’s CEO revealing there is now an “internal and external investigation” into the debacle.Both companies have found themselves facing backlash after a Callaway Golf ad in collaboration with Good Good Golf depicted the content brand’s co-founder Garrett Clark pushing over fellow content creator Alexis Miestowski and standing over her saying, “Do not touch my new driver.” The ad led to swift reaction from around the golf space and accusations that both brands were making light of violence against women.While both Good Good Golf and Callaway Golf pulled the ad from social media and expressed regret, Callaway CEO Chip Brewer issued a statement at 1:14 AM EST apologizing even further for his company’s role in the ad. “While the video was produced by Good Good, it was approved by Callaway prior to posting.That approval should never have happened.

Mistakes were made, and we are taking the matter very seriously,” he said.“As we deal with the consequences of our mistake and complete our investigations, I want to make it clear that we sincerely apologize for the video.
