Lost Lands Teases Crater Stage Expansion Ahead of 2026 Festival

The organizers of Lost Lands are teasing another round of upgrades to the festival’s beloved Crater stage.Ad 0:00 Click for sound 0:00 / 0:00 The social media pages of Excision’s flagship festival posted an aerial shot of its laser show this week alongside the caption, “What if we took The Crater… and made it bigger.” No specifics have been released yet as to what they have cooking up, but the tease signals that the dubstep superstar’s team isn’t quite done growing Lost Lands’ most talked-about stage.

The Crater debuted in 2024 as a 360° structure surrounded by lasers, giving fans a fully immersive vantage point regardless of where they stood in the crowd. The event’s producers expanded the stage’s footprint in 2025, optimizing for the use of full pyrotechnics and improved sight-lines.

Even then, foot traffic around the area remained heavy, prompting yet another expansion and redesigned pedestrian pathways for 2026.Those upgrades arrive alongside broader infrastructure investments within Legend Valley, including a new permanent pedestrian tunnel under Route 13 connecting the campgrounds to the festival grounds, replacing a temporary footbridge used in prior years.

The teaser lands as Lost Lands enters the home stretch before its ninth edition, running September 18-20 in Thornville, Ohio. You can find more information on Lost Lands’ latest venue updates and everything you need to know before attending here.
