Roman Anthony fires back on a lot of noise thats infiltrated his lost Red Sox season

Lost in the Red Sox’s magical run is their top prospect, who hasn’t forgotten the doubters.Roman Anthony hasn’t been seen in the big leagues since May 4, and the Red Sox haven’t missed him one bit, turning from a middling franchise into baseball’s best team in July while Anthony has been out with a partially torn ligament/tendon in his ring finger. Anthony suffered many setbacks in rehab, and before the Red Sox season turned around, questions surrounded his injury, initially reported as a wrist issue before it was later changed to a finger ailment with multiple MRI exams and specialists getting involved.“I know there’s a lot of noise,” Anthony said to MassLive Tuesday while on his rehab assignment with Double-A Worcester, where he went 2-for-4 and hit a home run.“A lot of people have opinions of me or what I do, or my injury or whatever it may be.

I took all the shots (injections) I could, as soon as I could.I tried to do everything to get back on the field.
Unfortunately, maybe we pushed too hard.Every time I tried to do that, it may have set me back a little bit.
But at the same time, I saw three outside doctors that told me this was a three-month injury. After it all, it took right about that much.”Anthony wasn’t exactly contributing to winning when he was playing, hitting just .229 with one home run in 30 games this season after being expected to lead the offense.
