Erewhon to open first location outside of LA County

The smoothies are coming!Ritzy California grocer Erewhon is set to open its first ever location outside of LA county, bringing $20 smoothies and cups of “sacred water” to Ventura County.Erewhon will officially open at Lakes Mall in Thousand Oaks on August 26, becoming the chain’s northernmost location.The trendy grocer now has 14 total locations across SoCal, in addition to a “tonic bar” selling smoothies at New York City’s members-only club Kith Ivy.A grand opening event to launch the store will take place from 9am to 9pm on August 26.

On opening day, Erewhon members can pick up complimentary bags and flowers, as well as store-specific merchandise including hats and candles.The store is also offering exclusive menu items, including a steak sandwich on a toasted baguette, and the “Amidst the Oaks smoothie”, containing pineapple, coconut water,, raw ginger, basil, spirulina and mint.

A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the smoothie will be donated to Manna Conejo Valley Food Bank, a local free food pantry that services individuals and families experiencing food insecurity.The grocer has been steadily expanding its LA footprint in recent years, opening new locations in LACMA and West Hollywood earlier this year.
