Your bedding can now tell you how fast youre aging (thanks in part to biohacker Bryan Johnson)

Talk about “sleepmaxxing.”More people are looking to get the most out of their nightly slumber, turning to high-tech mattresses and bedding to track their sleep data and achieve a perfect night’s rest.Now, the brand that once described itself as a “sleep fitness” company has partnered with the “immortal uncle” to offer a way to see how fast you’re aging while catching some Z’s.Eight Sleep, maker of the buzzy Pod bed cooling system, has just added a biological age feature to help users better understand not just how well they’re sleeping — but also how well they’re aging.The company developed the latest tech with biohacker and longevity mogul Bryan Johnson, a longtime advocate of prioritizing sleep who has used the Pod for years.“Bryan has spent years focused on measuring the factors that influence the pace of aging,” Matteo Franceschetti, co-founder and CEO at Eight Sleep, told The Post.“That perspective helped shape how we think about making longevity data more accessible and useful in everyday life.”The Eight Sleep Pod system consists of cooling pillow covers, a mattress cover to track biometric data, a hydro-powered blanket that connects to the cover and a hub, which powers the system.Using sensors built directly into the Pod mattress cover, the new feature measures several biological signs of aging — including heart rate, heart rate variability, respiratory rate, sleep stages, and sleep duration — and can account for individual metrics of two people in the same bed at the same time.Users also have the option of connecting a wearable fitness tracker, like an Apple Watch, to add data from their daytime activities and medical records for a more comprehensive picture.Unlike chronological age — the time that’s passed since a person’s birth — biological age measures the functional condition of a person’s cells, tissues and organs.
