CHP launches 78-hour crackdown over Labor Day weekend

California Highway Patrol is urging those driving in the Golden State “to make responsible choices” during the Labor Day weekend while traveling on roads.The highway patrol is launching a 78-hour Labor Day Holiday Enforcement Period (HEP) to ensure that drivers are not driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.The crackdown begins on September 4 at 6:01 p.m.

and will continue until 11:59 p.m.on September 7.The CHP’s Holiday Enforcement Period runs alongside the national “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign from August 19 to September 7.“There is no excuse for driving impaired.
