What began as a sublime sunrise moment on the White Isle has turned into Carl Cox‘s newest single, a radiant remix of Vikthor and Pianoalani’s ‘Legacy.’ The techno legend has spent the summer DJing his second consecutive season at [UNVRS], the 20,000-capacity Ibiza venue named as the best club of 2025 in EDM.com‘s list of the year’s top industry leaders.His rework of ‘Legacy’ emerged as one of the residency’s defining moments as the sun climbed over San Rafael on Monday mornings.
The original track had already established a strong connection with night owls on the island before Cox took it into the studio.It’s now officially out on streaming platforms via Intec, the influential record label he founded back in 1998 and re-launched last year after an indefinite hiatus in 2020.
Instead of abandoning the original melody, Cox chose to dial up its energy, bridging elements of melodic techno, progressive house and trance.“The original already had a feeling that people connected with, particularly in those sunrise moments,” Cox said.
