Krewella are back with their fourth studio album, Peak, out now through their own label, Mixed Kids Records.Krewella’s third album, The Body Never Lies, arrived in 2022 before the sisters went quiet, stepping back from touring and releasing music altogether.
They didn’t resurface until 2025, when they returned with a run of singles that would eventually build toward the dynamic Peak.By the time that break came, the sisters had already built the kind of career most artists dream about: a genre-defining classic like ‘Alive,’ constant touring and a fanbase many DJs aspire to achieve.
They found room to reconnect In the quiet that followed, both with each other and with the music itself, which shows up as arguably the most personal material of their career.The 12-track album moves fluidly across styles and puts Krewella’s voices on display, from the pop-facing hooks of ‘press play’ and ‘the blueprint’ to the heavier, bass-driven pull of ‘Hear Me Now’ and the melodic techno of ‘Crying On The Dancefloor’ and ‘Something Sacred.’ Its visual identity carries the same range.
Decaying circuit boards and gutted hard drives fill the frame of the album’s cover art, shot inside an actual electronic recycling facility.Meanwhile, ivy and flowers grow through devices that once held someone’s photos, songs and stories.
It’s an image built around impermanence, which is brilliantly conveyed through Krewella’s lyrics in the album’s title track: “The world is moving faster, and I just can’t keep up.Call me when it’s over, when I’m a particle of dust.” The duo will take the album on the road starting September 18 in Boston, followed by Chicago the next night.
A Sunday set at Excision’s Lost Lands Music Festival in Ohio follows on September 20 before a date at London’s Drumsheds and a run of North American club shows through November.You can listen to Peak below and find the new album on streaming platforms here.
