Brock Purdy details new family approach with wife Jenna before 49ers season: Crave those things

Social media feels more foreign than football for 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy.The 49ers starting quarterback almost never posts on social media aside from brand partnership ads.But to Brock’s credit, he and his wife, Jenna, have made several posts to announce family news over the summer, including breaking the news that they’re expecting a second child.It seems that this fresh social media activity is not a coincidence, instead more of an intentional effort to let fans into the Purdy family’s personal lives.

Brock said as much during an interview with NBC Sports Bay Area, saying, “I think it is cool to be able to show everybody who we are [on social media].And people are interested, and so we’re not trying to be so sheltered with how we live.“There’s definitely a balance with that.

But we’re learning as we go,” Purdy added.Despite the Purdy family always being in the spotlight, Brock spoke about the need to maintain a normal life off the field, including going on family walks and going to the grocery store.

“We love and crave those things,” Purdy said of his daily family duties.“I’m so blessed to have an amazing wife who understands what I do for a living, but also what’s important to our life and what we’re trying to get out of this life with loving each other, loving our family and our babies,” he added.

“Those are our priority, for sure.But then within that, I do have a job.

I do have a lot of responsibility as the 49ers starting quarterback.”While this might be true, Purdy’s most pressing priority might be bringing his team a win against the Rams next week....
