NYC pedestrian, 58, crushed by MTA bus as unsuspecting driver leaves scene: cops

A 58-year-old man was mowed down by a hit-and-run MTA bus driver after he stepped off a Brooklyn curb Saturday night, police said.   The pedestrian was crushed by the back wheels as the driver was leaving a B44 stop near Clarendon Road and Nostrand Avenue in Flatbush around 8:15 p.m., according to the NYPD. The 43-year-old bus driver, unaware that she hit a pedestrian, kept driving, the NYPD said. Police said it’s unclear if the victim was intoxicated or inadvertently walked off the sidewalk.Medics rushed the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County but he could not be saved. The victim’s pal told News 12 that he was a “well known” figure in the Flatbush neighborhood. “He was a very nice person.
