NFL Week 1 early predictions: Jets vs. Titans, Browns vs. Jaguars picks, best bets
It has been 211 days since we last had an NFL Sunday; you made it. Week 1 NFL action has arrived, and it’s time to start putting together your best bets for the season opening slate. While there won’t be much line movement barring some last-second injuries to key players, there are still some bets I’m targeting. We’ll forgo the marquee Wednesday and Thursday NFL action that includes four of the best teams in the NFL, including the defending AFC and NFC Champions. Skipping right to Sunday, how about we start with the boys from Florham Park as the Jets head to Tennessee to meet an old friend in Robert Saleh.No one needs a Week 1 win more than the Jets and Aaron Glenn, who could have an improved roster this season.Pro Football Focus still ranks the Jets’ offensive line 21st overall, but I’m still bullish on them becoming a top-10 group by season’s end.Saleh will surely have some tough blitz packages for Geno Smith — who everyone thinks is washed at this point in his career — to deal with in his return to the Jets.I’m skeptical that the Titans have the better quarterback in this matchup, as Smith rated No.
36 among 43 qualified signal callers while Ward rated No.39.I view the Jets as better at every position group except defensive line, backed by PFF ratings.
