A popular Egyptian TV host on Saturday was sentenced to death by hanging in a major drug case that accused dozens of suspects of forming an organized criminal group to manufacture and traffic synthetic drugs.Sarah Khalifa is among 12 defendants facing execution for their alleged roles in the operation, including importing materials used to produce narcotics, according to state-backed media Ahram Online.Capital punishment in Egypt is carried out by hanging for civilian convictions.Khalifa is a media personality, beauty clinic owner and former TV host who has appeared on several Egyptian television channels.
