Failed Raiders wide receiver tries hand in broadcasting after 10-year NFL career

Former Raiders wide receiver Nelson Agholor has officially called it a career and is set to pursue a new path.On Tuesday, it was announced that Agholor will join former USC quarterback Cody Kessler as football analysts on “NFL Game Preview” throughout the 2026 season.Through a 10-year NFL career, Agholor played only one season with the Raiders after signing a one-year, $1 million contract in 2020.Like everyone else in the NFL that season, 2020 was a chaotic season that took place during the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Raiders were caught in the middle of a transition by leaving their home in Oakland and relocating to Las Vegas during the offseason.Five years into his career at that point, Agholor was the veteran in the team’s receiver room that year, as Hunter Renfrow was in his second season and Henry Ruggs III was an incoming rookie.Agholor appeared in all of the Raiders’ games that season and was the team’s second-leading receiver behind tight end Darren Waller, who led the team in catches (107), yards (1,196) and touchdowns (9).The 2020 season wasn’t a complete wash for the former 2015 first-round pick, as he finished with 48 receptions for 896 yards and eight touchdowns.Agholor’s career had a lot of highs and lows. The highs featured him playing a key part in helping the Eagles win their first Super Bowl in franchise history in 2018.The lows primarily centered around his inconsistency in catching the ball, such as when he was infamously trolled for it in 2019 by a heroic Eagles fan who caught a baby out of a burning building and said: “We was catching ’em unlike Agholor.”Despite having to deal with a lot of adversity early in his career, he went on to play four more years in the NFL with the Patriots and Ravens....
