NYC siblings indicted after raid uncovers enough fentanyl to kill half a million people: DA
Two ruthless siblings who allegedly proclaimed to control the drug trade on Long Island were indicted Wednesday after police raided their Queens home and uncovered a boatload of fentanyl.Jemmal Bryan, 42, and his sister, 43-year-old Keana Bryan, allegedly ran a massive, “sophisticated” drug manufacturing operation out of their Jamacia home that included marking the bags of drugs they sold with a distinct “Bruce Banner” branding and a color-coding gradient to note potency.“I got the whole of Long Island [under my control,]” Jemmal allegedly bragged on a wire tap, according to Nassau County District Attorney Anne Donnelly.Nassau County police raided the siblings’ home in July after a years-long investigation that started after the distinctly branded bags kept popping up at overdose scenes around the county, Donnelly said.What they found inside the house, according to the DA, was enough fentanyl to kill half a million people, cocaine, crack, MDMA pills, and even purple-colored fentanyl alongside a trove of guns, according to police.
About 5,000 empty baggies ready to be stuffed with drugs and another 2,000 already filled, ready to be sold were also allegedly discovered.Three other coconspirators — Leo Duchnowski, Ian Sharkey, and Jennifer Loheide — were also arrested and each charged with multiple counts of conspiracy for helping the siblings move the drugs in exchange for narcotics.“In approximately six months, [Bryan] made well over $75,000 pushing poison to his customers who unfortunately were deep in the throes of addiction,” Donnelly revealed.Bryan pleaded not guilty to operating as a major drug trafficker, and his sister also pleaded not guilty to conspiracy and criminal sale of a controlled substance charges.The pair are due back in court Oct.
