A raw Billionaires’ Row penthouse once asking as much as $40 million has finally landed its first-ever owner, The Post has learned.The sprawling triplex tucked beneath the copper roof of Hampshire House at 150 Central Park South is pending sale for a considerably discounted $6.76 million following a July auction, according to a press release from Concierge Auctions, which handled the sale in partnership with listing brokerage Nest Seekers International.The deal comes after years of attempts to unload the unusual property, which spans roughly 9,000 square feet beneath the landmark co-op’s distinctive mansard roof but remains largely unfinished.That’s because it was always an attic used as mechanical space, and never for a residence.The identity of the new owner won’t be known until the sale closes.The Post toured the penthouse shortly before it hit the auction block, getting a firsthand look at the enormous gap between what exists today and what could eventually rise in its place.
