Earthquake hits Bay Area early Monday

A 3.0-magnitude earthquake rattled the East Bay early Monday morning, marking the third tremor to strike the area in just a few days, according to the US Geological Survey.The quake hit at 6:47 a.m., with its epicenter east of Mount Diablo, about nine miles south of Antioch and 7.4 miles west-southwest of Brentwood.The preliminary temblor was estimated to have originated about 10 miles below the surface.No immediate reports of damage or injuries have been reported.
