Trumps questionable press ban: Letters to the Editor Sept. 23, 2026

President Trump, the censor-in-chief, has decided what is and isn’t fit to print (“Trump’s NO’s for news trio,” Sept.19).He is for free speech only if it’s favorable to him.

Such a view contradicts conservatives’ argument that there should be no censorship and people should be free to decide the truth.Reporters don’t have to be fair to anyone.It’s long been accepted that there are right-leaning and left-leaning news outlets.

Editorials have always leaned one way or another.Is the real issue that Trump is a snowflake and can’t stand any criticism, so he uses his power to try to silence the news?George Magakis Jr.Norristown, Pa.It’s been obvious for a long time that MS NOW, CNN and Politico don’t have America’s interests at heart.One can listen to the president speak and then read something published by these three outlets that is twisted in such a way that it does not even come close to what he actually said.The press has an obligation to report the news, factually and in an unbiased manner.MS Now, CNN and Politico have forgotten that.
