Dimitri Vegas is back on his own Smash The House imprint for ‘Woops,’ a massive collaboration with BRANDON and DJ Bountyhunter.If you’ve watched footage of any major festival set over the past year, you have almost certainly heard it.
‘Woops’ has ripped through DJ sets across the globe, from Charlotte de Witte’s closing performance on the kineticFIELD stage at EDC Las Vegas to The Chainsmokers on UNTOLD’s storied Mainstage, garnering support form Tiësto, Armin van Buuren, Anyma and many more electronic music superstars along the way.The songs also emerged as one of the most-played records at both Ultra and Tomorrowland this year, equally at home in dark clubs and towering festival stages.
Few tracks built for this kind of scale manage to ignite such wildly different dancefloors.A raw and pulsing track from the early hardcore era, ‘Woops’ originated as a 1993 release by Belgian producer DJ Bountyhunter.
Dimitri Vegas and Junkie Kid revived it with a 2024 remix before today’s new version, which sharpens the original’s industrial textures while preserving its drive.The release arrives as Dimitri Vegas continues performing solo following Like Mike’s announcement in July that he would be stepping away from touring to focus on his health.
The Belgian dance music luminary is now poised to close out his summer DJ residency at Ushuaïa Ibiza and perform at Exchange LA and Insomniac’s Halloween festival, Escape.You can listen to ‘Woops’ below.
