Five men arrested over suspected bomb plot at UK base are all British nationals: police

The five men accused of plotting a terror attack on a British base used by the US Air Force for Iran missions are UK nationals living in London, police said Monday.The group, which was arrested early Sunday morning near Royal Air Force Fairford base 90 miles from London with three vans full of explosives in tow, are between 23 and 25 years old and were living at addresses across the British capital, UK police said on Monday.Officers are “working to establish the full circumstances of the activity of those arrested, their knowledge, and any motivation behind this incident,” police said.The suspected terror plot, which is being investigated as a possible Iran-linked operation, was foiled when a local farmer spotted the vans full of “Middle Eastern-looking men” wearing masks and balaclavas on a quiet country lane near the village of Whelford in Gloucester.Iran’s regime has categorically denied any involvement in the plot, with its embassy in London putting out a statement slamming the “unfounded and malicious speculations” published in the wake of the raid.“The Circulation of such fabricated speculations, particularly in the aftermath of the criminal acts of aggression committed by the United States and the Israeli regime against the Iranian people, will serve no purpose other than to fuel Iranophobia propaganda in the UK,” the statement continued.With Post wires...
