Emotional AEW boss Tony Khan pays tribute to Pac at ROH tapings: A legacy that will last forever
An emotional Tony Khan addressed the untimely death of AEW wrestler Benjamin Satterley, better known as Pac, ahead of Monday’s taping of Ring of Honor in Jacksonville, Fla. Khan became choked up at times while speaking about the 40-year-old — who just appeared AEW All Out on Saturday night in Chicago — calling him someone who “optimized the very best of wrestling and the very best of humanity” and describing him as “one of the best people” he ever knew. “Ben was an absolutely fantastic wrestler and an absolutely fantastic human being.A great person to work with and a great person to spend time with,” Khan said before Ring of Honor held a 10-bell salute in his memory. Ring of Honor is a separate promotion from AEW, but Khan owns both outfits, with some wrestlers crossing between the two brands Satterley had wrestled in AEW since its inception in 2019 and had previously performed in the WWE as Neville from 2012 to 2018. Satterley was discovered slumped over in his car outside a CAVA in Des Plaines, Illinois, on Sunday around 4 p.m., The Post first reported, and he was pronounced dead at 4:08 p.m. No cause of death has been revealed, but a spokesperson for the Des Plaines Police Department told The Post that there are currently “no indications of foul play and the circumstances surrounding the death are not considered suspicious.”The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office said that a cause of death is pending “additional testing” following the initial autopsy on the wrestler. Satterley wrestled at the All Out pay-per-view event at NOW Arena in Chicago on Saturday night and lost to AEW national champion Andrade. He later came out during the main event between Jon Moxley and Will Ospreay.Khan announced that Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite from Pittsburgh will be a tribute show for Pac.
