Tyler Perry is saying goodbye to one seriously star-studded piece of California real estate.The billionaire filmmaker has listed his sprawling Beverly Hills estate — which once served as a temporary home for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle — for a whopping $57 million as he prepares to relocate to Puerto Rico.The 22.5-acre spread, tucked inside the gated Beverly Ridge Estates community, centers on a roughly 24,500-square-foot Mediterranean-style mansion with eight bedrooms, according to the Wall Street Journal.Perry purchased the land for just $4.3 million in 2004 and completed construction on the massive residence in 2012.The sprawling Tuscan-style villa has eight bedrooms and 12 bathrooms, along with a library and grand entertaining spaces.Outside, the grounds feature a swimming pool and fountain, according to Architectural Digest.Privacy is also a major part of the package.
The home sits on more than 22 acres inside the exclusive gated enclave, creating a secluded compound in the middle of Beverly Hills.And there is plenty of space beyond the main residence.The property also comes with a separate one-bedroom guesthouse and staff quarters — accommodations that have come in handy for Perry’s famously high-profile guests.The estate has reportedly hosted a string of A-listers over the years, including Oprah Winfrey and former President Barack Obama, according to Architectural Digest.
Among its notable temporary residents were the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who stayed there after moving to the US in 2020.They’ve since returned to the UK after several years in California.“We needed a house and he offered security as well,” Markle later said of Perry during the couple’s 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, during which she announced her pregnancy with her youngest child.And the Beverly Hills estate isn’t the only trophy property Perry is putting on the market.In June, he listed his sprawling Jackson Hole, Wyo., retreat for $39.5 million.
