Hollywood actress performative rant about sons sexuality at LGBT gala fuels online backlash

A Hollywood actress used her platform on stage at a far-left Human Rights Campaign (HRC) event to performatively joke that despite her best efforts, her son turned out to be heterosexual.Camryn Manheim, best known for her role as Ellenor Frutt in the late 1990s and early 2000s drama series “The Practice,” introduced and presented her friend and fellow actress Marcia Gay Harden with the Ally for Equality Award at the HRC’s National Dinner on Sunday.“For Marcia, of course, this is deeply personal to her,” said Manheim of this year’s recipient of the prestigious award.“She has three remarkable children who all align with the LGBTQ+ community, which is another thing that deeply irritates me about her, because I always wanted a gay son.”She then launched into a tirade about how her son is heterosexual.“I love that relationship between gay sons and their mothers,” she said from the stage.
