Longtime Mexican dining chain shutters last Bay Area location

Adios.Popular Mexican restaurant Dos Coyotes has closed its last Bay Area location as the chain’s footprint begins to shrink.Dos Coyotes Border Café announced that Thursday, September 24 was the last day of operation for their location on Crow Canyon Place in San Ramon, California.

Founded in 1991 by former Los Angeles restaurant manager Bobby Coyote, Dos Coyotes opened its first restaurant in Davis with the goal of creating “ a people’s restaurant.” The chain serves classic Mexican-inspired dishes including tacos, burritos, enchiladas and quesadillas.The company still operates 10 locations in California: two in Sacramento, two in Davis, two in Folsom and one each in Citrus Height, Elk Grove and Roseville.It also has a location inside the Thunder Valley Casino in Lincoln, California.
