Dom Dolla, Skepta and Solomun‘s summer-long tease is over after the trio dropped ‘DANGER DANGER,’ a long-awaited collaboration. The track had been living in DJ sets since July, when they unveiled it during Dolla’s Friday residency at Hï Ibiza.
Solomun had also been testing it during his ‘+1’ residency at Pacha while Skepta rinsed it during his ‘Más Tiempo’ run at Hï.The track’s roots, however, go deeper.
It can be traced back to Dolla and Solomun’s 2024 Ibiza dates before taking further shape when Skepta joined the former at Rockfield Studios, the storied recording complex in the Welsh countryside that has long hosted recording sessions for Black Sabbath. Each artist’s fingerprints sit in plain view on ‘DANGER DANGER.’ A rubbery, restless bassline threads the whole arrangement together while old-school rave stabs nod to the warehouse-era of electronic music without tipping into pastiche.
Skepta handles the rest, commanding the track with a steely, unhurried delivery. For Dolla, the release lands at a particularly high-profile moment.
Last week, the Aussie dance music superstar headlined a sold-out Marvel Stadium in his hometown of Melbourne, drawing 60,000 fans to what promoters billed as one of the biggest headlining electronic music events ever staged in the country.According to his team, ‘DANGER DANGER’ opened the night.
