Shocking video shows upstate NY cops fatally shooting suicidal rape suspect, 17, who ran at them with knife

Harrowing newly released bodycam footage shows a suicidal teenage rape suspect running at upstate New York cops with a knife – then being fatally shot in a volley of bullets.Guatemalan-born Oscar Granados Colindres, 17, was seen sitting on a ledge on Wappingers Creek Bridge on June 27 as police from multiple agencies responded to a call of a “suicidal subject with a knife.”The teen was suicidal after being kicked out of his home when he was accused of rape, sources told the Times-Union.Officers repeatedly pleaded with him to reconsider, speaking in both English and Spanish for at least 50 minutes.“Life is ugly.

It’s not clear who fired the fatal shot.At least one officer appeared to have tried to tase him, too.An investigation into his death is underway – but his mom believes he would be “alive had trained crisis intervention professionals responded instead of police,” according to lawyers representing the family. The high schooler “loved playing soccer and had great interest in classic cars and automotive hobbies,” his family said in an obit.“His dreams included becoming a professional soccer player, joining the US military, and traveling around the world to visit other countries.”...
