Burned corpse mysteriously found at vacant NYC lot: cops, sources

A “charred” corpse was shockingly discovered in a Queens lot Thursday afternoon, cops and sources said. The unidentified man was found lying on the ground around 4:20 p.m.Thursday when police responded to a 911 call from the vacant lot on 139th Street and Hillside Avenue in Briarwood, according to authorities and law enforcement sources.He had been living in a tent at the lot — possibly a dormant construction site — and was believed to be homeless, the sources said.The body appeared “charred,” and investigators believe it had been there for a while, the sources added.He was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS workers.It was unclear how the man died or how his body was badly burned.
