LeBron James helicopter spotted landing in NYC after 76ers scrimmage

LeBron James is officially in his 76ers routine.The four-time MVP is proving his helicopter commute from Philadelphia to New York is no big deal.

After the 76ers’ first scrimmage on Saturday, he took to the sky and made the roughly 45-minute flight back to the concrete jungle, per photos obtained by The Post.The helicopter landed at VIP Heliport on West 30th Street.The commute is shorter than what would usually be a 90-minute to two-hour drive.It has already taken effect as the team prepares for the season.ESPN’s Dave McMenamin reported that James’ helicopter could be heard taking off while the media were interviewing Anfernee Simons last week.Xfinity Mobile Arena held a sold-out crowd of 10,000 fans for the scrimmage.“To be able to take what we’ve done on the practice floor, bring it to a game-floor situation around our fans … it was a great first step in the direction we’re trying to go,” James said afterward.The 41-year-old has stated he plans to spend his time between the two cities after signing a two-year, $8 million deal with Philadelphia in a booming free agency move that involves moving his family to the East Coast from Los Angeles.When asked about what city he would be living in, James previously said, “Both.Multiple residences.”Between the 76ers’ 41 home games and about 26 home practices, the Philly Voice reported James could be looking down roughly 67 round-trips.

General manager of the New York-based helicopter charter company Wings Air Helicopters, Anna Macsai, also told the outlet flights could start at $6,000 and double for round-trip.It lands the estimated total cost of the helicopter commute around $804,000 for the next two years (playoffs not included).When making his decision to play in Philadelphia, it was never about money for James.
