Check your freezer! Frozen berries recall expands in more than 30 states over dangerous E. coli risk

It’s not looking berry good.A recall of frozen berries — that originally started back in July 3, 2026 and Sept.3,2026 — has just been expanded.
The company, Frutas y Hortalizas del Sur S.A., announced a new lot of its frozen berries have been potentially contaminated with a dangerous strain of E.coli.The original recall was for the company’s organic blueberries and berry blends sold at Publix locations across eight states.
This time, Walmart and Trader Joe’s shoppers scooping up the frozen blend should check their freezers.For Walmart shoppers, the Great Value product was shipped to select Walmart stores in 30 states and Puerto Rico.The Trader Joe’s item was distributed to stores across 26 states and the District of Columbia. Shoppers in Virginia should be aware, as it was among the states where both brands were distributed.Consumers should check their freezers — even if they don’t remember purchasing the frozen berries as the fruit can remain in households for months.
