Ugly accusations fly as police investigate Super Bowl champ and wifes elevator incident with Bears stadium security

Chicago police are investigating an altercation between former Bears Super Bowl champion linebacker Otis Wilson and a male and female security guard at Soldier Field following the Bears’ win over the Jets, as Wilson and Monterrey Security have publicly spoken out about the incident for the first time. The altercation occured over a dispute about Wilson being able to use an elevator after the game inside the stadium.Chicago PD told ESPN on Monday that it dispatched officers to Northwestern Memorial Hospital to do an incident report and police said there is an active investigation. Both parties have said that they would cooperate with police and any other inquiry. The incident occured after Wilson attempted to board an elevator on suite level A at Soldier Field after the conclusion of the game. Monterrey Security, which is hired to do security for Bears games at the stadium, alleged that Wilson was not wearing credentials when he entered the elevator and a female security officer had “politely” told him to use a different elevator. The company described Wilson as having “forced his way onto the elevator” and claimed that the ex-NFLer had gotten physical and attacked the female security officer. “He aggressively threw the female officer into a wall,” the company said in a statement to ESPN, “leaving a large hole in the wall.”Wilson provided a different narrative, claiming that when he and his wife had gotten on the elevator along with members of the media, they were “assaulted” and that his wife was “physically assaulted” after the security guard approached them. Members of the media witnessed part of the altercation, with ESPN providing an eyewitness account with one of their reporters there for it. The outlet reported that the elevator had been designated for media use only when Wilson and his wife were the last two on.
