Whether it was the electrifying return of Skrillex and Boys Noize as Dog Blood or the laser beam that lit up the night sky during Swedish House Mafia’s set, this year’s Portola Music Festival had plenty of memorable moments.Entering its fifth year, the two-day event once again returned to San Francisco and has rapidly become a defining fixture of the Bay Area’s EDM scene mixing forward-thinking rosters and an idyllic bayside setting.
Held at the city’s Pier 80, the industrial backdrop allows the music to speak while its warehouses, containers, and concrete slabs harken back to the underground settings of raves past.The festival is surrounded by water, with four stages and the famed Despacio tent all contained within the pier, while the city’s skyline illuminates the background.
Each stage delivered a distinct dancing and listening experience, from the thumping bass coming out of the Warehouse stage, to the lasers and pyro lighting up the Pier stage.Between Tiesto’s rare trance set to Spice Girl’s Melanie C’s energetic DJ set, these are some of the photos that captured the magic of Portola 2026.
