Video shows migrant suspect trying to flee as ICE agents surround car before NYC shooting

New video captures the moment a suspected illegal migrant tried to flee ICE agents in The Bronx moments before one of them shot him.Oscar Belgal, 28, can be seen hurriedly peeling out of a parking spot in Marble Hill Thursday as two federal agents in plainclothes approach the front left side of his gray Honda CR-V with guns drawn, with one punching and smashing the glass of the driver’s side window.Agents soon caught up with Belgal — described by the feds as a “criminal illegal alien” from the Dominican Republic with potential gang ties — and one of them fired several shots in the street, out of view of the security cameras.Several bystanders can be seen dropping to the ground as the shots ring out out of frame at around 4 p.m., according to the footage obtained by The Post Friday.Belgal was shot in the neck and was expected to recover, authorities said. His 5-year-old son was with him in the backseat of the SUV, though the Department of Homeland Security said agents were not aware of that at the time. The boy was not injured.NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch noted the CCTV footage at a Thursday night press conference, saying it captured the car “move forward” after two plainclothed ICE agents approached it, but that the “cameras do not capture the discharge.”“Members of the NYPD’s 50th Precinct Conditions Team were responding to an unrelated call nearby when they heard the report of shots fired, and they responded to that scene,” she told reporters.
