Theyve done it again: the Nobel Committee just disgraced itself once more

The Nobel committee has disgraced itself yet again by awarding the 2026 Peace Prize to Navanethem “Navi” Pillay, the South African legal activist and former UN human-rights chief known for her extreme anti-Israel bias.Pillay’s main qualification for the prize appears to be that she falsely accused Israel of “genocide” in Gaza. But her obsessive anti-Israel bias has been a hallmark of her career for decades. For years, Pillay falsely accused Israel of being an “apartheid” state, despite the fact that Jews and Arabs have equal rights and the vote — something that was never true of actual apartheid in South Africa, and even of life in the rest of the Arab and Muslim world. In 2021, after the last war that Hamas launched against Israel, Pillay led a one-sided UN investigation that targeted alleged Israeli violations of Palestinian rights and said almost nothing about Palestinian misconduct. At one point she even compared Israel’s war on Hamas to the Rwandan genocide, with the Jewish state actually portrayed as the perpetrator.By 2023, even the Biden administration had tired of it, and led more than two dozen countries in demanding an end to her Independent International Commission kangaroo court. While targeting Israel, Pillay was notorious for ignoring actual human rights violations by other countries, including some of the worst dictatorships in the world.Subscribe to our daily Post Opinion newsletter!
