Gas stations may be hiding some of America's most overlooked affordable fast-food options

Some may shy away from the thought of getting a meal at a gas station or convenience store, but doing so could be an easy—and surprisingly delicious—way to save money while on a road trip or during a daily commute.Restaurant menu prices rose 0.3% in both July and August this year, and menu prices were 3.4% higher this August than in August 2025, the National Restaurant Association reported in September.
