49ers linked to potential wide receiver trade reunion after Deebo Samuel injury

The 49ers are running out of options at wide receiver, especially after Deebo Samuel’s injury this past weekend. But the 49ers aren’t confined to their current roster. They could make a trade to add a receiver, and one of the most compelling options is someone San Francisco is familiar with.“I would say a name that I’ve been wondering about is Jauan Jennings.
So he’s with the Minnesota Vikings, had like two catches.Obviously, came over from the 49ers.
I expect his name to heat up a little bit over the next, probably, couple days and weeks,” NFL insider Ian Rapoport said during “The Pat McAfee Show” on Tuesday.“Obviously, the 49ers lost Deebo [Samuel] for a couple weeks, too.So they make sense [for Jennings],” he added.
Jennings signed a one-year, $8 million contract with the Vikings this past offseason after spending the first five seasons of his career with the 49ers.Jennings has two catches for 9 yards in Minnesota this season.Last year, he tallied 55 catches for 643 yards and nine touchdowns during the regular season for San Francisco.Rapoport said Samuel suffered a “bad hamstring pull” and was told that he’ll most likely miss the next two weeks, then San Francisco has its bye, which means “the hope” is Samuel can return the week after the bye.Regardless of Samuel’s status, the absurd number of injuries San Francisco has experienced at wide receiver this season makes a potential reunion with Jennings make a lot of sense.
The NFL trade deadline is Nov.10.
So the 49ers’ front office has nearly a month before deciding whether it might want to bring Jennings back to the Bay Area....
