Members of the Democratic Socialists of America are heading for a political head-on crash with the lone Democrat serving as an agency head in the Trump administration.The far-left comrades are furious that National Transportation Safety Board Chairwoman Jennifer Homendy has allegedly been too chummy with Republican lawmakers during the midterm election season.During an Oct.19 virtual DSA meeting of electoral commission members largely focused on hot Senate races in Alaska and Texas, some reps went off on Homendy — but that only irked even congressional Democrats, sources said Sunday.

“[The extremists’] long term goal is to install only DSA members into government roles,” a DC Democrat fumed.Homendy, a native of Connecticut, has repeatedly been appointed to serve on the NTSB by both Republican President Trump and Democratic former President Joe Biden since 2018.She appears to have supporters on both sides of the political aisle, with many believing she is a straight shooter doing her job of investigating accidents, not engaging in partisan politics.But among the radicals’ complaints:“I suspect this DSA effort of trying to ‘out’ Democrats who have relationships with Republicans will expand in 2027,” the Washington Dem insider said.“I can tell you: [Homendy] actually doesn’t give a s–t about political party, and if the NTSB became political in any direction, that would be the end of aviation and transportation safety in the US.”Homendy declined to comment.A DSA rep said it was looking into the matter.The DSA is on the rise, particularly with one of its members — Zohran Mamdani — winning the mayoralty of New York City last year, America’s largest municipality.

DSA candidates also won more congressional primaries this year, and democratic socialist Rep.Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is testing the waters for a potential run for US Senate or president in 2028....
