Florida mom arrested after leaving 4 kids home alone during dayslong trip to Vegas

A Florida mom was arrested and charged with child neglect after she left her four kids home alone for nearly three days while she was in Las Vegas, the local sheriff reported Monday.Irene Miller was busted after a dispatcher received a 911 call on Oct.21 from one of the kids in the Kissimmee home who reported “that her 9-year-old brother had been injured by a dumbbell that fell on his head,” the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement. When the deputies arrived at the residence, they found four children ages 14, 12, 11 and 9 — and no adults watching over them. While paramedics took the injured boy to a nearby hospital for treatment of what turned out to be an apparently minor injury, the deputies tracked Miller down by telephone.“She told the deputy that she was working in Las Vegas and would return on October 23, 2026,” the sheriff’s statement said.
“Deputies learned that Mrs.Miller had left for Las Vegas on October 18, 2026.”Miller, according to the statement, told deputies that she had a babysitter coming from Tampa in the mornings to get the children ready for school and to check on them after school.
