Embattled ex-49ers receiver Brandon Aiyuk takes huge step toward return to NFL

Brandon Aiyuk is making strides towards a comeback in the NFL.ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reported on Monday that Aiyuk has hired Drew Resnhaus as his new agent and is “working on getting him back to work and playing again in the NFL.”Rosenhaus is viewed as one of the most successful and polarizing agents in football and has a history of representing top talents in the NFL that includes Tyreek Hill, Jalen Carter, D.J.Moore and Chris Olave.According to Aiyuk, he claimed that he had been without an agent since November 2025, when he released a video saying he fired Ryan Williams of Athletes First. In June, Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reported that Aiyuk had never officially fired Williams due to him not completing his part of the process to terminate his SRA.Since Aiyuk tore his ACL in 2024, the two-time 1,000-yard receiver has been at war with the 49ers organization. In December, 2025.
the 49ers placed him on the reserve/left team and has been there since then due to not participating in team activities.Last spring, he did not show up to OTAs and minicamp. This past summer has been an exhausting one for Aiyuk, as he spent most of it calling out 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch, calling them both “weirdos.”On June 3, Aiyuk was issued a warrant for his arrest for a misdemeanor charge for speeding. On top of that, Aiyuk insisted he was going to be traded to the Washington Commanders over the offseason, but then got in a feud with quarterback Jayden Daniels. With Aiyuk hiring Rosenhaus, perhaps it’s a sign that things are changing for the better for the 28-year-old receiver....
