Dad makes wild catch on foul ball while daughter covers his eyes at Yankees game

A Yankees fan made what instantly became a Catch of the Year contender on Saturday.As the Yankees played the Rays at home, a Bronx Bombers fan had his glove ready as a foul ball was on its way.But his daughter, who was sitting on his shoulders, ended up making the catch extra challenging.As the foul ball came closer, the smiling daughter covered her dad’s eyes with her hands.Still, he was able to make the grab with his glove, pulling it into his chest to secure the ball and raising his hands in triumph.“That’s dad power right there,” Yankees broadcaster Jeff Nelson said as the highlight played on YES Network.He then gave the ball to his daughter.The Yankees ended up falling to the Rays on Saturday, 3-2, and also ran into an injury scare with Anthony Volpe, who is out of the lineup for Sunday’s series finale.The Yankees lost an early lead that included Aaron Judge’s 11th home run of the season.
