Alleged Minnesota assassin Vance Boelter cried poor in court Monday — even while claiming he owns a home and seven cars.Boelter, 57, arrived in federal court in an orange jumpsuit and slippers and was unshackled as he sat next to a defense lawyer, according to CNN.The suspect — accused of shooting dead a state representative and her husband and wounding another local pol and his wife —  whined to the judge he can’t afford a private lawyer, noting he only has a part-time gig that brings in about $540 weekly, according to the outlet.But he also copped to owning a home and having seven cars in his name.The judge asked the federal public defender’s office to look into the accused killer’s financial situation but agreed it is unlikely he can afford a defense lawyer.Boelter is facing charges tied to murder of former Democratic House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, and the shooting of Sen.John Hoffman and his wife Yvette early Saturday.He was held without bail with a detention hearing set for later this month.This is a developing story.
