Pacers rookie Kam Jones arrested after police chase

Indiana Pacers rookie Kam Jones was arrested Monday after a short police chase in Indianapolis.The 23-year-old guard was hit with reckless driving and resisting law enforcement charges, according to Marion County records, after police tried to pull him over around 9:50 a.m.for allegedly driving erratically, WTHR reported.Jones didn’t pull over and led cops on a “brief chase” on I-65, WTHR said, citing Indiana State Police.He was being held in county jail as of Monday afternoon and a bond had not been set.“We are aware of the situation involving Kam Jones.

We are in the process of gathering additional information and will not have any additional comment on the matter at this time,” the Pacers told WTHR in a statement.The Spurs selected Jones in the second round, No.38 overall, in the 2025 NBA Draft out of Marquette before trading him to the Pacers.He’s been sidelined during the preseason with a back injury.A three-year starter at Marquette, Jones was second in the Big East last season with an average of 19.2 points per game, and he was also second in the conference with 5.9 assists per game.He was a consensus second-team All-American and first-team All-Big East.After losing in the NBA Finals to the Thunder, the Pacers’ expectations are lower as star guard Tyrese Haliburton could miss the entire season with a torn Achilles.They also lost center Myles Turner to the Bucks in free agency.Indiana opens the 2025-26 NBA season Thursday at home against Oklahoma City....
