With Putin digging in, its time for Trump to send Kyiv some Tomahawks

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov made no bones about it in his call with Secretary of State Marco Rubio: Moscow’s not interested in any peace that doesn’t amount to Kyiv’s complete surrender — which means President Donald Trump can’t get the cease-fire he wants unless he gives Vladimir Putin reasons to cut his losses now.Whatever bull Putin pitched to Trump in their call last week, the Kremlin refuses to offer anything that would make a face-to-face in Budapest worth the trip.Trump’s options include sending Tomahawk and Barracuda cruise missiles to Ukraine — perhaps a few at first, but with more ready to follow — to let Kyiv hit Moscow’s energy industry and weapons factories deep inside Russia.As well as finally implementing “secondary sanctions” to slam China and other nations that are buying huge amounts of Russian oil to fund Putin’s war machine.Putin’s still trying to bomb (and drone) Ukraine into submission with constant attacks on civilians — but he’s also starting to run out of bodies to throw into the grinder at the front, while falling global oil prices squeeze his treasury.Subscribe to our daily Post Opinion newsletter!
