Patrick Beverley allegedly choked, punched teenage sister in ugly arrest incident

Former NBA player and Barstool Sports podcast host Patrick Beverley’s Nov.14 arrest was over accusations he punched and choked his sister in an ugly incident.According to court documents viewed by The Post, Beverley’s sister, 15, claimed she left her Fort Bend house without permission to see her boyfriend, 18.

When she returned, her mother and Beverley confronted her, with the 37-year-old grabbing her “by her neck with both hands, and picked her up off the ground, by having her feet come up from the floor.”She claims the 6-foot-2 ex-NBAer “squeezed her neck causing her to feel pain,” for 20-30 seconds, leaving her to feel “she was losing oxygen and not able to breathe.” He allegedly then took her out of the room by her neck, laid her on a couch and punched her “approximately one time on her left eye with a closed fist,” purportedly adding that he “will be the family relative to kill her.” The boyfriend was asked to leave the house and was followed by Beverley.Police officials responded to the boyfriend’s call for assistance and and found the sister to have “markings” on her neck and petechiae in the whites of her eyes.He was taken into custody at Fort Bend County jail on a third-degree assault charge and was bonded out for $40,000.Later that day, Beverley took to social media to seemingly respond to news of the incident.“Please don’t believe everything you see on the internet,” he wrote on X.“Hope all is well.”He attempted to further clarify the situation with a follow-up post.“Patrick Beverley has no criminal record,” a post to his social media accounts on Nov.
