Justin Jefferson bails on media after career-worst game as Vikings season turns ugly

Frustration appears to be boiling over in Minnesota.Vikings star receiver Justin Jefferson, who is typically available to reporters after games, skipped out on speaking to the media after an embarrassing 26-0 road loss to the Seahawks on Sunday in which the 26-year-old had a career-low 4 yards receiving on two catches.Jefferson not speaking to the media could result in a fine by the league, as league rules state that most players must make themselves available to reporters, a rule made famous by former Seattle running back Marshawn Lynch, who famously said, “I’m just here so I don’t get fined.”The star receiver’s displeasure surely stems from the uneven performances of second-year quarterback J.J.McCarthy for most of this season, and then culminating with a terrible performance from third-stringer Max Brosmer Sunday.Coach Kevin O’Connell shared in the frustration postgame.“In no way, shape or form can we play offensive football like that and try to win at a place like this,” O’Connell said after Brosmer threw for 126 yards with four interceptions.Minnesota is now 4-8 in what has been a nightmare season, and this isn’t the first time Jefferson has appeared perturbed.Underdog is where football fans become winners.Use promo code NYPOST5 to get $50 in site credits when you play $5!“It’s frustrating to lose,” Jefferson said after losing in Week 12.
“It’s frustrating to be up here and saying the same things every single week expecting something to change the following week … We’re still in the same spot, so we’ve got to figure it out and see the things we need to change.”Jefferson was seen hugging his former quarterback, Sam Darnold, after the game.Minnesota let Darnold walk to Seattle in favor of McCarthy after a successful 2024 season that resulted in a playoff berth. It is unclear if McCarthy will clear concussion protocol ahead of a Week 14 home game against the Commanders....
