Bird brain! Tourist allegedly stole live flamingo from Las Vegas hotel, took selfies while choking it

What a birdbrain.A dimwit “farm boy” tourist was arrested for swiping a flamingo from a popular Las Vegas hotel and taking  selfies with the poor bird while “choking” and maiming it in his room, according to police.Mitchell Fairbarn, 33, of Ontario, Canada got tossed in a cage himself after allegedly snatching Peachy from an enclosure at the Flamingo hotel on the city’s iconic, casino-dotted strip Tuesday, cops told the Las Vegas Review Journal.The bird-napping flew into high gear at around 5 a.m.when Fairbarn was allegedly caught on camera grabbing the bright pink Chilean flamingo by the neck, laughing and declaring, “I’m taking it home!”, according to police.The feather-ruffling robber then dragged the three-foot bird into an elevator and took it up to his room on the 14th floor, according to cops, who found footage of the wild theft on Fairbarn’s phone.As he chased and pinned down the bird, he clipped its wing then tried to “pop it” back into place — causing the critter to need stitches, according to police.“He stated he knows that ‘popping’ the wing back into its place [is] a common practice for birds, such as ducks.
