Boy, 4, killed in hit-and-run tragedy police launch manhunt for driver

A 4-year-old Brooklyn boy who dashed away from his mom was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver on Thursday morning, just steps away from a local hospital, police and sources said.The boy was walking with his mom near Linden Boulevard and Rockaway Parkway across the street from Brookdale University Hospital shortly after 11 a.m.when he was hit by a Ford SUV, which sped away from the scene of the tragedy and left the injured boy on the ground, cops said.The youngster was taken to Brookdale, where he was pronounced dead.
