The No.1 seed got started in the quarterfinals yesterday with a matchup against No.

9 Providence.In a dominant showing, the Johnnies beat their rivals 85-72.“This is the best time to play basketball, in March, and our goal is to win a Big East Tournament championship,” Bryce Hopkins said after the win.

“Providence just so happened to be our first matchup, so the biggest thing was just coming out today with a win.”Today, they’ll face No.4 seed Seton Hall in the semifinals.

Seton Hall’s head coach Shaheen Holloway was recently named Big East coach of the year.Seton Hall advanced into the semifinals with a 72-61 win over Creighton yesterday.The winner of today’s game will play for the Big Ten final tomorrow, March 14.Today’s (March 13) St.

John’s vs.Seton Hall game is scheduled to tip off at 5:30 p.m.
