Lindsey Vonn already takes huge step in injury recovery just weeks after horrific Olympics crash

American skiing legend Lindsey Vonn has already taken a major step forward in her recovery.Just weeks after a devastating crash at the 2026 Winter Olympics, Vonn, 41, offered an encouraging update following a torn ACL suffered one week before the games and a complex leg fracture during the competition.Vonn shared last week that she had begun what appears to be light rehab work, and she showed on Friday that it now includes time on a stationary bike, as she continues recovering from multiple injuries sustained in the worrying accident.“Guys….I’m biking!! Starting with 5 minutes… making progress one day at a time,” she wrote on Instagram.The milestone represents significant progress for the American Olympian.The crash occurred during the women’s downhill race when Vonn lost control 13 seconds after leaving the starting gate.

Vonn had already been competing with a torn ACL suffered in a prior crash just days earlier.She shared at the end of February that there was even a fear her leg might have to be amputated.“Dr.Tom Hackett saved my life.

He saved my leg from being amputated,” she said.“If I hadn’t torn my ACL, Tom wouldn’t have been there.”The leg fracture led to multiple surgeries in Italy before she was allowed to fly back to the United States.She has won one career gold medal in the Olympics during the 2010 games in Vancouver.She also has eight medals from the World Championships, winning gold twice in 2009 at the games held in France.She took home the gold in the downhill and Super G categories....
