The Issue: Democrats block homeland-security funding amid attacks in Michigan, NYC and Virginia.Democrats don’t want to fund the Department of Homeland Security, our primary defense against domestic terrorism (“DHS ‘block’heads,” March 13).Are they really willing to compromise the safety of the American people, especially during these dangerous times of conflict, because of their hatred for Trump?That’s not hard to answer, as they refused to stand at the State of the Union when confronted with putting the interests of American citizens first.Tony GiamettaOceansideMembers of Congress have become a joke.They are forcing a partial government shutdown while terrorism is becoming rampant in our country.More than ever, we need to fund the Department of Homeland Security.
