NYPD launches manhunt for sweater-swapping goons who shot up NYC playground

The NYPD is looking for a pair of gun-toting thugs who riddled a Bronx playground with bullets and took off in a getaway car — with the two caught swapping sweaters on police surveillance video.The shooters approached a group of people at the Bathgate Playground shortly after 5 p.m., with one of the goons pulling out a gun and firing “several rounds” before running off, police said Sunday.Cops said the bullets miraculously missed the people in the park, but said the suspects are now wanted on reckless endangerment charges.

The two fled on foot and hopped into a waiting dark-colored sedan, speeding off on Bathgate Avenue.One of the alleged shooters wore a red sweater over a black t-shirt, with black pants and black sneakers, and the second wore a light blue sweater with a white t-shirt, white and black pants and black sneakers.The video clip shows them taking off their sweaters and exchanging them as they cross the street.Police are asking anyone with information on the two to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS, or online at crimestoppers.nypdonline.org.
